I am a musical theater major that will be going to columbia college in chicago this fall. i basically have everything paid for through scholarship. The thing is, i dont feel like i will a great education there because all i hear is that the teachers and staff dont really care, which is kinda true i learned upon talking to the undergrad admissions office a few 100 times. Any who, i really want to go to a school in NY for musical theater, because i feel that something great is going to happen while im there. but it scares me that if i transfer from a school that is basically paying for my education to a school that i really have to work for, i will have a mountain of debt. what should i do and do u have any school advice.

Why not actually attend the school you’ve chosen first to see if what you’ve been told is true, then transfer if you really don’t like it? Not to mention if you’ve contacted the undergrad admissions office “a few 100 times” you probably annoyed them.

Don’t make major decisions based on impulse.

I would not recommend going to a school where you will rack up “a mountain of debt”. There are good theater programs all over the United States perhaps it would be a good idea to do a bit more research into other schools and transfer if you dont like the one you are at.
