Something About My Mid-term Grades

Hi guys. I attend CCSF. In the mid-term, I got All A but one C in English 1A. But English is my second language and my major is physics. Do you guys think I will lose my chance to transfer to my UCB? I want to transfer to UCB for physics major.

I attached my mid-term grades here.

English 1A C 3 units
Math 110A (Calculus) A 4 unites (Honor)
Physics 4A A 3 unites
Physics 4AL A 1 unite
Intermedia Swimming A 1 unit
LERN 50 A 3 units

Mid-term GPA: 3.6 :(

By the way, I will participate in AMATYC competition next Friday and hopefully will get an excellent score in that contest. I receive Cal Grant B :)

I do not think it will hurt you that much to get a C in English while getting an A in your Physics and Calculus classes. Make sure on your UCB application to tell them you are not a native-English speaker and explain what your first language is and when you started studying English. If your native language is Chinese, Japanese or Korean and you have only been in English speaking schools for a brief period of time, that C in English might be seen as a significant accomplishment.

Thank you very much!

@myomoo Just wanted to let you know that, if you’re interested, you can transfer as a sophomore to USC.
