Son has a job! :-)

After some frustrating lying about, a position opened at my school that son was interested in and qualified for, as a substitute. So with some parental boot-in-backside, he got all the red tape done, and although he didn’t get that job, he did end up as the long-term sub at another school replacing the guy who transferred to our school.

It’s in his field (media/tv), and after a couple of weeks, the principal there has offered him the permanent position. Some more hoops to jump through, but in this economy, it’s a great opportunity with full benefits etc.

Plus, he can live at home for a while, save some $$ and really get on his feet.

Woo Hoo!

So excited…congrats on the employed son.

(Not really my news, but my daughter’s boyfriend got a job this week!!)

Good luck to others looking.

Got some more evidence just a few minutes ago that the local economy here is picking up. A local builder came buy to give me an estimate on a home repair that can’t wait :frowning: He said that he is crazy busy right now, and has been for about the past month or so. He said this past summer was very slow (slowest since the recession began), but right now his business is hopping. Yay!

Great news! Congrats!!! A first job, and in his field, - that’s an achievement!

Congratulations…every parent’s dream come true…employed offspring!

A nice story after what’s in every newspaper lately. Congrats!

Nothing like a parental boot applied at the right time!

My mother gave me a boot at the right time when it came to getting my first ever job. The cashier job notice said that experience was required (and I had no job experience at all). My mother suggested that I apply; I resisted, pointing out that I didn’t have the required experience. She strongly suggested that I take a chance. I got the job and a new appreciation for the wisdom of my elders.

Congratulations to your son!

We have suggested, then insisted, then demanded, then threatened (yes, there was a move out of the house in two weeks conversation). It is SOOO frustrating when they won’t do things that are FOR THEMSELVES.

But, for now, all’s well that ends well.

:-)

Wonderful news !

That is terrific news! Congrats.
