Do you know how many candidates interviewed and how many open spot?
Feb. 28th!
About 250 interviewed and 85-100 accepted I think. That was what it was for 2021ā¦
Hey,
I know Macaulay came out not too long ago, did anyone get accepted into it? Also, I know Sophie says decisions come out April 1st but previous years Iāve seen where itās the last week of March or something. Did anyone ask the specifics of this?
Thank you!! Goodluck to all who got interviewed!!
Is Macaulay in a different location from CCNY?
So Iām not the best at explanation but Macaulay isnāt a college itās like an institution that offers free tuition, laptop etc to students at their specific CUNY school. I applied for Macaulay to go to City College, so itās not an actual college that you go.
If I didnāt explain well enough please let me know. I will try to be more specific lol.
Are you considering other programs or will attend Sophie Davis if you get in?
Most likely Iād choose Sophie.
Are you considering any other programs ? I was planning on applying to HowardU BS/MD program, but I missed the deadline.
You explained it pretty well. I also applied to macaulay city college. Did you get in?
Unfortunately not, hbu?
I got into Macaulay Honors at Hunterā¦my first choice is still Sophie though!
I got into Macaulay Honors at Brooklyn Collegeā¦my first choice is still Sophie though! If any case I am not selected Sophie, can I switch my Macaulay Honor home school.
Sophie kids canāt be in Macaulay for some reason. You canāt be enrolled in both programs.
Sophie Davis is a 7 year BS/MD program in which an intensive BS in Biomedical Science is completed in 3 years. Macaulay is a honors program that is done as part of a 4 year BA or BS degree at one of the campuses within CUNY. The BS program in Biomedical Sciences has specific course requirements that need to be completed in 3 years in a specific order as defined by the Sophie Davis Program. Macaulay and Sophie Davis are not compatible because they require different lengths of study and each has their own requirements which are not compatible with one another and very frequently conflict with one another. If a Sophie Davis student was a Macaulay student they would not be able to finish the requirements for both programs in 3 years.
Is there an interview during undergrad to get into med school or it is guaranteed?
No, there is no interview during the undergrad years to get into the med school. Admission to the CUNY School of Medicine is guaranteed once you are admitted to the Sophie Davis Program, provided you maintain the required GPA. The MCAT is waived.
Hi! Little late to the thread but I submitted the app on the second week of December and got an interview in the first of March. During my interview my student interviewer told me there were close to 300 kids chosen out of 5000 kids for an interview and that this year theyād be taking little over 100 for the new batch. Also regarding the process after the undergrad⦠they do actually make us do interview for the med school however itās just done as a formality and not a determining factor of our place in the program.
Oh wow 5000 is a lot! Did they provide any details if it would be closer to 150 seats or low as 110?
Not rlly bcs the student was kind of very casual with these numbers so it doesnāt seem exact but I think those who got an interview are working with like a 40% chance. So goodluck to all of us!!! Did anyone hear back yet with a decision??
Does anyone know if all decisions are going to be sent out on one day?
