Sophomore Transfer to NYU/Tufts/USC

<p>Hi all,</p>

<p>I just finished my first semester out at UIUC and after a few months of trying to fit in, i just haven’t been able to click into the social atmosphere of the school (not much of the giant frat guy or get drunk in the cornfields person) If anyone could take some time and evaluate my chances for a Sophomore transfer to NYU, Tufts or USC, it’d be great!</p>

<p>College Stats</p>

<p>Major: Psychology w/ Pre-Medical requirements and possible minor in Chemistry
First Semester GPA: 4.0 (13 hours taken)
Taking 15 semester hours for Spring 2013 with a planned 8 hours for Summer 2013 at local CC
Extracurriculars: AMSA (American Medical Student Association), ACS (American Chemical Society), UNS (Undergraduate Neuroscience Society), and during the spring I will be tutoring for 2 hours a week for General Chemistry and volunteering 3 hours a week at a local hospital</p>

Graduating Class Rank: 26/690 at a decent Illinois public high school
GPA: Weighted - 5.6, Unweighted - 4.97 (5 pt scale)
ACT: 30 Composite, 32 Superscore, 12 writing
AP Courses: European History (5), United States History (4), Chemistry (5), Calculus AB (5), Biology (4), Macroeconomics (5)
Extracurriculars: Technology Club (Vice President Senior Year), Model United Nations (Head Delegate Senior Year), National Honor Society, Volunteer at local Park District, Volunteer at local Temple (200 hrs)</p>

<p>UIUC is a good school and you received a good GPA!</p>

<p>I’m a sophomore transfer looking at USC and NYU as well. I remembered you wanted to take 8 hours during the summer at a CC. I read that for USC they only let you take courses that go towards elective credit and diversity req. credit. Were you thinking of summer school as more of elective credits than actual major requirements?</p>
