When are you supposed to send recommendation letters? If I am a Kappa Kappa Gamma legacy does that mean that they will automatically accept me? Also, what are all of the sororities like? i.e. what are they known for?

also, do freshmen get to stay in the sorority house immediately once they get in or second semester or not until sophomore year? i know it varies at all collleges.

I am assuming you are planning to do fall rush. Letters are highly recommended, as recruitment is competitive. The UF panhellenic website is a great source of information [UF Panhellenic Council](http://www.ufpanhellenic.com), including how and when to send letters. That’s also the place where you register for fall rush. If you attend preview, make sure you attend the session for greek life, as you will get even more info.

FYI, being a legacy does not ensure a bid, so I wouldn’t go into the process with that assumption. As far as moving into the house, no, it doesn’t happen immediately, although you will be required to switch your meal plan to the house once you pledge (UF dining allows you to get a refund). If you choose to live in the house, it most likely would be the next year that you will move in.

Hi! I’m looking at rushing in the Fall as a Freshman too. [:
KKG is a very strong chapter nationally-speaking, but for some reason at UF they are not considered a “top”. I would love to pledge KKG, though. Being a “top” isn’t everything. The volunteer opportunities are fantastic. Look up the KKG website, specifically the chapter at UF, and you should find a place to send in rec letters a few weeks before Rush begins.
Best of luck!
