I am in a sorority and we have a program “sober sis” for typical days girls go out and for special events. Its a good idea/program but still needs more structure to it. Im needing some advice on how to change it. Most girls absolutly hate doing it, because they dont feel respected when doing it, but it is something are sorority wants to have. We assign girls two girls two drive on nights, and voulenteer for events.

This is a great idea I have never heard of before! I understand the “sober sister’s” complaints and can see it being quite tedious, nobody likes being a DD. To make it more “fair” why don’t you have a random raffle in the beginning of the year, and the girls randomly selected are each in charge of a date.

My chapter used ‘sober sister’ as an incentive to get house points (if you guys do those…points for who picks rooms/parking spots first, ability to go to formal, etc.). Everyone except seniors had to sign up for at least one date, and then people could volunteer after that. If a date wasn’t filled, that event didn’t happen.
