Sorry but..CHANCE ME!

Lol, ok, first of all that GPA is from an official transcript DIRECTLY from my counselors. Second of all, I’ve taken a total of 10 AP Classes this year and last year. The rest were all honors classes. I can do the math, and all the math is correct. So yes, my GPA is correct; I am ranked number 3 in my class…give me some more credit than that. Also, read the preceding posts where I upgraded my schedule.

(Wow that kinda sounded mean. I wasn’t trying to be =/ )
Sorry for the misunderstanding

Anyways, now after this discussion, chance me? =)

In other words, I have taken the MOST RIGOROUS courses that my school does offer. (Took me 8 replies to finally say it lol. I’m sure that’s what you guys were wondering =) )

Bumpity Bump

again a 5.43 weighted gpa with only what was it 3 or 4 previously taken? i took 6 aps and am in 7 aps now. my cumalitive gpa is 5.02 and i pretty much got all A’s. it is impossible to get a 5.43 unless you took all aps for freshman, sophomore, and junior year. please put the correct weighted gpa before people chance you.

ok, I’m done trying to convince you. that is my CORRECT GPA. I’m sorry if you don’t believe me, but that is it. Maybe I forgot to add something of my classes, or my school is different. All I know is I make all A’s and A+'s in all of the most rigorous classes that my school offers, and that my GPA is CORRECT

Don’t worry about extracurriculars. So long as you put in a lot of time and effort into those activities, it will make your transcript stand out against all the those other applicants who joined 50 clubs just to have a good resume. If anything, your limited extracurriculars will help you.

All the other stuff is solid. Id say you’re in.

youre chances are very good because of good ol’ affirmative action. you are considered african american, i believe, in which case you can almost be assured acceptance.

sad, but true.

– sad, but true. –

How is it sad that colleges are humane enough to offer equal opportunity to those whose parents never went to college because they or their own parents (aka the current students grandparents) were suffering under ridiculous oppression because of the superficial judgements made by a current white students ancestors?

for college admissions, egyptian/middle-eastern=white

Wow, that was wrong in so many ways…first of all:

You’re assuming that Black people’s parents never went to college and all White people’s parents did

If you think every white person in America is responsible for slavery, that’s BS. Most White people immigrated to this country after the Civil War. Even if they didn’t, it’s not your fault what your ancestors did

This AA thing should be done by basis of Socio-Economic Status. So that POOR blacks/whites/hispanics/asians benefit. At Amherst College, this is the way it is now, because they found that the average African-American student at Amherst’s family earned MORE than the average Amherst student’s family, because most of the Black students that went to Amherst came from wealthy families and attended good schools.

The idea that all blacks are poor and all whites are living the good life is ridiculous

there are a lot of Asians/Whites whose parents never went to college and are poor - why don’t they benefit

My family is South Asian, we’re minorities, more so than Blacks, like any minority, sure we’ve had to deal with racism - we don’t get any special treatment, because we’re smart and successful. No AA for us, cause we don’t need special treatment. Blacks/Hispanics should be treated like everyone else. Yeah, they’re minorities, so are Asians/Mideasterners, we don’t get special privilege. It should be done on basic of Socio-Economic Status, NOT skin color.

**** that, I’m Irish American, you want to know what my ancestors suffered? I have illiterate grandparents, whose brothers and sisters died in mines and in factories. My people worked on railroads and canals with other disposable immigrants. Hated for being Catholic, and ever martyred for it, with their churches burned to the ground.

Just because I’m white doesn’t mean anyone in my bloodline ever owned a black slave, that is so ****ing racist.

I see how blacks couldn’t assimilate easily after the first generation like the Irish because of skin color, but that is no reason to assign people positions in schools or jobs based on their skin color. I would be so insulted if I were black and knew I got into school on that basis; not because I was more qualified than the other guy.

Get over it, ffs we have a black president who won 60% to 40%, are you ****ing serious? The one and only time we had a Catholic president (who happened to be Irish) he was shot.

umm…ya, I’m not considered African American. Middle eastern is considered white.
