Hey so I’m a Junior in CA, wondering about what my shot is at Wake. here’s the profile

ACT Composite: 33

SAT IIs: Span: 770 Lit: 710

AP’s: Span- 5 Eng- 4 US History- 3

WF GPA: 3.44 (with hardest courses)

ECs listed on app: football, track, was in 2 clubs, and work

Job/Work Experience: did finances that were really receipts at a family friend’s company and also had a job too

Essays (subject and responses): already started so they should be very good- on two hardships that have come down on me the last 2 years, and my dealing w/ them.

Teacher Recs: better than great

Counselor Rec: great

School Type: Private, does not rank

Ethnicity: Hispanic

Gender:M

Also: Took 2 summer courses at a local comm. college- pysch and creative writing, both got A’s. and i also got 4 academic awards (not sure if it means much, but what the hell)

by the subject-and-response questions, are you referring to the short answers on the wfu supplement? just a heads up: i got a hold of an application for admission into the class of 2011 and finished those short answers…only to find out that with the next year’s application there were altogether different questions! i can’t remember what time of year the new applications come out though, you might be doing everything right and i’m just warning you for nothing lol
but best of luck to you thru this extremely fun application business.

A little better SAT’s, 30 ACT, 6AP’s/lots of honors, top-notch extra curriculars (Eagle Scout, lots of community service, Editor-in-chief of two publications, 2 years football, President of my own club)

Your test scores are definitely strong, but your GPA is slightly on the low end. I understand you went to a private school that doesn’t rank and I’m assuming that a 3.4 is probably about/above average for your graduating but it’s hard to say. As long as you show an upward trend, you’ll be fine.

The fact that you’re Hispanic will definitely help you out. I think you have a great shot.
