In some ways, I wish I found out about CC before I applied so I could have polished and perfected my app.

But I stumbled across a thread the other day in the Univ. of San Diego board where someone was asking to be chanced. He had a similar GPA/SAT score (and more ECs than me) but people were saying he should consider USD a reach and stuff. I applied to USD thinking that it would be one of my safeties (didn’t really know anything about it) but I’m glad I did because I got in. I feel like if I had found CC before I applied and made threads asking to be chanced, I would have second guessed a lot of the schools I applied to.

Applied to UT-Austin, UNC, UCLA, and Harvard (and 6 other very safe-reach schools). I got accepted to all of them, even though I’m in 3rd-quarter. I thought they’re a far-reach, but took my luck on it.

Wrote really good essays, and had my manager at Apple write a rec letter for me ( and copied 9 times). Those, plus me getting all As & only 1 B in school first semester set up my app real well.

I barely got in at UT-Austin and UNC (strong essays def. helped), and was wait-listed for UCLA. I got into Harvard mainly due to my “daring” essay, and I called the Dean Office, asking for my process status (ended up chatting for 10min).

Thinking heavily on UT-Austin or UNC. Harvard may be tough on me. And UCLA is barely above my parents’ planned budget for my schooling.
