SOS DUKE/PHYSICS/PLS HELP PLS IDK WHAT TO TITLE THIS ??

So I attached a thread I posted a few weeks ago below and most of it (maybe all of it? idk) is irrelevant bc MY ACTUAL QUESTION IS …
THEORETICALLY (maybe not though because I’m actually going to do this maybe)
I’m signed up for AP Physics. I decided I don’t want to take it because I want to enjoy my last semester of high school, but my school won’t let me drop it until right before 2nd semester.
I’m also (maybe) applying ED to Duke.

If I ask them if I can drop physics and they say no but I’m already bonded to Duke, what would happen??
Would they blacklist me?
Would the reject my admissions?
Is there anyway I can let them know about this or ask them before December?

ALSO

If you didn’t notice, yes, it is November 1, and yes, ED Duke is due today, and yes, I still don’t know if I’m doing it.

I was deadset on it but because of the Physics problem + possible finances problems (sucks being middle class bc not poor enough to get a lot of money but not rich enough to pay 50k per year) I’m having second thoughts and I am very confused and stressed and I am the most indecisive person in the entire universe and this really shouldn’t be a huge problem bc Duke is my #1 but I’m freaking out???

I’m probably not even going to get into Duke why am I freaking out so much???
Someone help plss
ahhhh thank you

I’m also an AP Scholar (but seriously who isn’t lol) and won Superior Delegation at the App State Model UN Conference

DREAM Club is some club I started where we place incoming refugees in local homes - last year our big project was finding an apartment for a family from Syria and we got all the supplies and furniture and set it all up for them.

So my question is - Pratt or Trinity? I might transfer between them once I get in (I’m deciding between Comp Sci and Comp Engineering so it doesn’t really matter too too much) but I just want to know which will boost my chances. At first I thought being a white girl I’d have a better shot at Pratt, especially since my application clearly shows I’m very math and science oriented, but I’m not too sure now.

ALSO - SHOULD I GO ED? I know it’s super expensive and after grants and scholarships if my tuition is still over 30,000 I don’t think I’ll be able to attend, and when I used the admissions price calculator it estimated I’d be paying 30,000. Should I risk it? If I get 30 (or a little over but no more than 35) then I will definitely be attending Duke, and I REALLY want to go, but if they don’t give me enough money I’d be stuck.

I’m in-state, which I also know helps. I just want to maximize my admission chances as much as possible.

THANKS!

Side note - please don’t be too mean. I know Duke is a reach for me, it’s a reach for everyone, so feel free to let me know how my chances are in addition to answering my 2 questions, but I already know it’s a reach. Thanks!

ps i picked trinity lol

If you do get in, and then later drop a class, you’d better have a good reason to do so. They really really do not like to see “Oh I got in time to drop”, which may not be your case, but it will look like it. What I would do is write a letter saying (only if you get in) that you want to focus more on piano/ whatever your passion is and that AP Physics wasn’t right for you, but you want to pursue this thing in great depth instead. If you get deferred and then drop a class, that would deff hurt your chances of getting in. Good luck!

Personally, I would just finish AP Physics. 1 class shouldn’t prevent you from enjoying your last semester of high school. The potential harm from dropping something to which you made a commitment and devoted half a year outweighs the benefit.
