SOTA or Lowell?

So I’m a student in the SF school district-I’ve applied to both SOTA and Lowell, and have been accepted for the Creative Writing Program at SOTA (still awaiting response from Lowell). If I do get accepted into Lowell as well, I’ll be torn-on one hand, I love writing and the CW program seems perfect, on the other hand, I’m really strong on academics and love Lowell’s classes and academic reputation. Any advice?

er. o - o

if you’re planning to have a job related to creative writing, I would definitely go to SOTA. I’m a Lowell student and the closest thing we have to creative writing is our journalism class.

[that’s what I think… i could be wrong. I’m pretty sure we don’t have a creative writing class but I could check in with the english dept. about that tomorrow and let you know if no one else comments]

Aand SOTAs academics are great too :]

actually, why don’t you wait until you hear from Lowell first o - o ?

Thanks  The thing is that SOTA wants me to reply to the invitation by Feb. 10, and Lowell mails their acceptance letters in March :/

I’m not sure what I did… but I got in for Visual Arts at SOTA and I got into Lowell as well.

Perhaps you reply to SOTA’s invitation and later when you hear from Lowell, you call/notify SOTA about which school you plan to go to. I think the schools will see that you are signed up for two schools later on and they can pull you off the list on whichever you choose not to go to and give the space to a waiting list person.

Based on what friends say, I don’t think SOTA has particularly strong academics outside of English.

How do you love Lowell’s classes without having taken them? Most of your classes will not be taught by amazing teachers such as Spellicy.

I would say Lowell if you’re a fit for the environment.
