Sou/psu

<p>I tried looking stuff up on the websites and it was confusing and not very informative and I have some questions. I haven’t been on this site in awhile and if these questions were already answered could you point me in that direction?</p>

<p>SOU:

  1. How many credits must I take to get a BFA in theatre?
  2. How many of those credits must be general education?
  3. How do I know what general education classes I have to take?
  4. How much is the tuition for on campus living if I live in state?
  5. If I’m getting a BFA focusing on performing do I have to take a bunch of directing and costume and other classes not pertaining to performance?
  6. I’m looking to graduate in no more than three years, how many credits per term am I allowed to take in order to do that?
  7. I’m highly considering trying to get into Yale School of Drama Graduate program once I get my BFA, is this school good enough to help me with that?
  8. How is the theatre department here, I’ve heard some good things.
  9. Anything else you can tell me?</p>

<p>PSU:

  1. How many credits must I take to get a BA in theatre?
  2. How many of those credits must be general education?
  3. How do I know what general education classes I have to take?
  4. On the website it says you must take 180 credits to graduate…I’ve heard that it usualy is 124…I’m very confused by this.
  5. There is a list of theatre class requirements and below that there is a list of classes focused on performance…are the performance classes taken on top of the theatre class requirements or in place of? I’m confused by this.
  6. Keeping in mind I would like to get into the Yale School of Drama Graduate program what would be a better place to go, PSU or SOU?
  7. Anything else you can tell me?</p>

<p>When I said PSU I meant Portland State University.</p>

<p>What is SOU?</p>

<p>You’ll find a lot of what you need to know about PSU here</p>

<p>starting at page 37</p>

<p>Southern Oregon University</p>

<p>The OP is asking about two nice but lesser known Oregon State U’s.</p>

<p>OP so sorry but you are not likely to find an answer here since neither school is on most CC parent’s radar and even if it were you are asking a fairly specialized question best answered by someone from the schools themselves. I would suggest that you contact admissions at SOU and PSU. People there are used to answering questions themselves or directing you to the registrar or someone else who may have the answers.</p>

<p>Best of luck I don’t know much about PSU but SOU is a fabulous theatre school!</p>

<p>Thanks for the tip historymom. Could someone answer a more broad question for me?</p>

<p>How many credits does it usually take for undergraduates to graduate. I searched on google and what I found is 124-128. If this is true I don’t understand why PSU says theirs is 180.</p>

<p>Is PSU on the quarter system?</p>

<p>4. How much is the tuition for on campus living if I live in state?</p>

<p>I think you may mean…How much is the Cost of Attendance if I live on campus and I live in state…</p>

<p>[Admissions:Southern</a> Oregon University:Cost To Attend SOU](<a href=“http://www.sou.edu/admissions/freshman/budget.html]Admissions:Southern”>http://www.sou.edu/admissions/freshman/budget.html)</p>

<p>Oregon Resident… Undergraduate<br>
Tuition & Fees …$6,711
Room & Board …$8,454</p>

<h2>Books & Supplies …$1,350</h2>

<p>Total…$16,515</p>

<p>When it says tuition and fees do they mean per term or the whole year?</p>

<p>In this case above, it’s for the whole year.</p>

<p>But…be aware…some schools list their costs as “per semester” or “per quarter.” </p>

<p>( I wish they wouldn’t do that!!)</p>
