Sound Editing for Films

I’ve done some research for programs at schools offering sound programs, especially those focusing on post production and I haven’t found too many. I’m looking for more suggestions for what schools to look at and maybe apply to. [-O<

Ohio University (where my son went; he is now working in the film industry) has an “Audio - Post Production for Moving Image Major (B.S.C.)” that sounds exactly like what you are looking for. http://www.catalogs.ohio.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=16&poid=3740

Son is sophomore Recording Arts major at LMU, it’s a small program in the School of Film and Television. Probably more general program than Audio - Post Production for Moving Image Major at Ohio University. There are probably 10 Production majors for every sound student: there are more opportunities to work on student movies than there are hours in the day. I suspect this is true in many film schools, you can get lots of experience and contacts, and if you are good you will be busy. Of course you will probably start by holding the boom mike.

^True… start out specializing and if you are any good, you’ll be in demand for all kinds of student films. And then guess what? When some of those students become successful in the industry, who will they call? YOU. That’s where your connections are made… in college!
