Source of Inspiration

Basically, what did you all put? Maybe it’ll inspire me to finish my work, lol. Anyway, here’s mine:

“What I Have Lived For” by Bertrand Russell.

Three passions, simple but ungovernably strong, have ruled my life. The longing for love, the search for wisdom and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. These passions, like great winds, have blown me hither and thither in a wayward course, over a deep ocean of anguish, reaching to the very verge of despair.

I have sought love, first, because it brings ecstasy, ecstasy so great that I would often have sacrificed all the rest of my life for a few hours of this joy. I have sought it next, because it relieves loneliness, the terrible loneliness in which one shivering consciousness looks over the rim of the world into the cold unfathomable lifeless abyss. I have sought it finally, because in the union of love I have seen, in mystic miniature, the prefiguring vision of the heaven that saints and poets have imagined.

With equal passion I have sought knowledge. I have wished to understand the hearts of men. I have wished to know why the stars shine.

Love and knowledge, as far as they were possible, led upwards towards the heavens, but always pity brought me back to earth. Echoes of cries of pain reverberated in my heart. Children in famine, victims tortured by oppressors, helpless old people a hated burden to their sons, and the whole world of loneliness, poverty and pain make a mockery of what human life should be. I long to alleviate the evil but I cannot and I too suffer.

This has been my life. I have found it worth living and would gladly live it again if the chance were offered me."
(and no, I didn’t send all of it to pton, lol)

well, dear, you already know mine, but I’ll share anyway…

Luke 12:48
“From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.”

…i put…

“Music”

lol.

I put “my beautiful mother.” I thought that said it all :)

I put Kurt Vonnegut

We had to put a little more than just the thing? For Source of Inspiration, I put a passage from the Bible, but, I didn’t know we were supposed to elaborate more than that.

I put: “an extremely heavy book on John Singer Sargent–it is covered with oil paint.”

I didn’t elaborate, I just put my grandfather.

ur not supposed to elaborate lol. its spose to be a few words

I put something along the lines of “a long solitary run along the lake near my family’s house” (except more eloquently worded than that, I hope)

I put… “Poetry from the Romantic period”

I put “The Adventures of Tintin by Herge”

Nearly everything you need to know about life is in those comics.

Tintin is “da bomb.” (I can’t even use that phrase and be left with any self-respect unless I use quotation marks!) :)

thunderstorms

yeah, i’m hardcore

ZZ3

I simply put “my music” too. I dont think they require a long-winded response. However, if you’re adamant about talking about ur sources of inspiration, use it as an essay, or as the optional “what else…?” entry

lol, think there was some misunderstanding, I didn’t put that whole passage, just the title of it, don’t worry, I kept it to under a sentence

Valdez, I love thunderstorms, too. I understand why people are scared of them, but they’re incredibly beautiful. I wish more would come this way, although the time of year is ripe for them now.
