I need to find a baby gift for a couple who are very concerned about toxins, etc. I have tried our local high-end mall and, although there were lovely, soft baby things there was next to nothing organic (and I didn’t like what was there). I am also considering natural toys. I will have to find something online. Anyone know of a good source?

After rolling my eyes a bit, I’d buy a US Savings Bond!

Yep. hannaanderson.com really cute clothes, well made and many organicz.

miYim is a really cute line of organic toys.

The parent company, Greenpoint Brands LLC, is based in Brooklyn and has a line of organic dog toys as well – which is how I know the company. Although the products are organic, they are made in China.

If you google for miYim or Greenpoint Brands, you can find their store locator. They seem to be in independent toy stores, baby stores, in Whole Foods, and online.

Hanna Andersson has some wonderfully soft organic cotton clothing. Bought them for my oldest son who tended to get rashes easily. When he outgrew them, my youngest son wore them. After he outgrew them, they were still in such good shape that I gave them to a friend for her child to wear.

They carry a lot of organic toys

I can’t help…laughing…
Organic? What’s that mean anyway? No pesticides used in the growing of the cotten onesies (what, you never wash it?). No polyester? Guess you won’t go for inflammable pj’s. No toxins? (anyone been around babies much to see what some put in their mouths on a regular basis?) Don’t even want to know what they want to use for diapers.

Money sounds good as a gift.

Organic foods are regulated by the USDA. As far as I know, there are no agencies overseeing “organic” clothing and toys, making sure that they are in fact what the label claims.

Hanna Anderson’s kids clothes ROCK. They last forever. But to be safe… I agree with gouf: money is as organic as gifts get. :)

BTW, the most damaging chemical is the one we cannot live without. It is atmospheric oxygen.

I have to say that I love the Simply Fido dog toys – which are the dog versions of the miYim toys. Really cute, soft, lovely toys. The organic and natural part doesn’t thrill me all that much – and they are made in China which really doesn’t thrill me.

BUT … they are claiming all natural dyes. Some of the paints on toys from China contain lead. THAT could be important to me. Not what it’s got (organic) but what the toys don’t have … the lead paint.

Your mileage may vary. The organic toys can’t hurt. Or give money.

Speaking of “organic” foodstuff made in China… Here is an interesting article from the today’s paper:

[Business & Technology | Questions remain about organic foods grown in China | Seattle Times Newspaper](http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/businesstechnology/2017179239_organic08.html?cmpid=2628)

I can only magine what happens with the stuff that has zero oversight.

I’m not sure if all of their stores carry these products but the Whole Foods near us has a lovely selection of ‘organic’ and ‘natural’ baby and children’s clothing and toys.

The best thing about natural toys is that they never wear out.

Thank you, everyone, for the suggestions. I knew about Hanna Andersson - have bought many pairs of their sleep sets for my sons. In fact, I looked at the HA store at the mall but didn’t see anything I liked. I looked at nysmile’s link, though, and saw that they have more patterns/colors online, and I’ve just placed an order.

I am also getting a miYim toy. They are very cute!
