Hello. My son is excited to be attending Top Scholars OOS weekend. I am hoping to share information with other families who will also be attending. My daughter is currently in her second year at South Carolina and loves it!

Can anyone help me understand the benefits aside from money (of course that’s huge) of top scholar over honors college if there are any? Also, are top scholars considered for capstone? The website is very thorough but I still find myself confused when I read up on it all. Thanks if you can help!
I’m pretty sure that all Top Scholars are also Honors College members by default. They have additional advisors, seem to be a high percentage of fellowships recipients, have a student mentor to help them acclimate to campus, have specialty events, donor dinners etc. Some of them also attend national events for other recipients, depending on what level of Top Scholars they are. Thank you, yes, honors goes along with TS. Just confused how Capstone does or doesn’t fit into all this.
Capstone Is a tier down from honors and a two year program with its own freshman dorm and programming. Some capstone students do re-apply for and may be able to join honors later.
