<p>Would you say there are a decent number of “southern belles” at Duke? I know a lot of the students come from the north and all, but are there a good bit of the southern belle type of girls?</p>
<p>If you are thinking Gone-with-the-Wind-esque southern belles (Vivien Leigh), cotton plantations, and all that kit and kaboodle then no…Durham was more of a tobacco town anyway. </p>
<p>But a significant portion of the student body comes from the Carolinas.</p>
