<p>I am applying to college this year and was wondering what some of you on here would think about my odds at a few colleges. My top choice is Cornell University, followed by Claremont McKenna, Occidental, Harvey Mudd, Pomona, and Westmont. Which do you think I have at least a decent (or better (: )shot of being admitted to?</p>

<p>My unweighted GPA is 3.92 and my weighted is 4.28
I scored a 2220 on the SAT on my first (and only) attempt and I assume that I scored around 700-800 on the math and literature SAT IIs.
I have taken and passed the English Language, US History, and European History AP exams all with 4s.
I am continuing to challenge myself with this year being my most rigorous yet, so that shouldn’t be a problem. Each year I have taken more AP and honor classes than the year before, so I do have an upward trend.</p>

<p>As for extra curriculars:
Throughout my life and especially in high school I have had a constant and huge level of family responsibility caring for my disabled younger sister.
I have provided extensive free and paid tutoring from 10th grade to 12th in math classes.
I traveled to Germany after my third year with my class as part of a three week exchange program. I am currently in my fourth year (4AP).</p>

<p>I have a few awards such as Principal’s Honor Roll, a Language Department Award for German, and scored well on the National German Test. I am a lifetime member of the California Scholarship Federation.</p>

<p>A little about me:
I am white but come from a very low income family, with my EFC being zero dollars.
I have dealt with large scale family emergencies very well while taking on new responsibilities and maintaining my grades.</p>

<p>Your GPA and SAT are very good and should give you a decent chance at the tougher schools you are applying to (Cornell, CMC, Pomona, and Harvey Mudd). </p>

<p>Sorry to hear about your family’s situation but these struggles can provide excellent essay topics. Write strong essay’s and I think you will have no problem getting into at least 1 or 2 of the top schools.</p>
