Southern Charm

Did any of you follow this show? I have to admit I did…my husband is dumbfounded on why it amused me.

slides in

Southern Charm is amusing, indeed. I laugh at least every five minutes from the idiocy, hypocrisy, or small-mindedness. I love it.

Buckwild without the honesty.

I think it is a hoot, but can’t help but cringe over the Thomas and Katherine “relationship.” Ick.

It is amusing and the scenes of Charleston are nice. I read that Thomas and Kathryn have a “love child,” a baby girl named Kensington.

Thomas and Kathryn. Bleh. Thomas is troubled. Kathryn doesn’t have enough brain cells to remember whatever she said the previous day, let alone earlier in a conversation.

Yes. It’s my guilty pleasure. It’s rather amusing, and I can relate somewhat as I have friends who are eerily similar to Cameron and Shep. Dripping with southern sweetness, and all the guys have a terrible case of PPS. Thomas and Kathryn’s relationship does make me cringe though. Thank you at @sevmom for sharing those details, things just got 10x worse. Ick.

What’s PPS?
Kathryn went to U S. Carolina.

I really don’t think we should hold the University of South Carolina responsible for Kathryn (did she graduate?). There are dimwits like her in most colleges (yes, even “elites”).

I think Cameran is hilarious. When’s Whitney coming out of the closet?

When Thomas realizes that he’s a creepy old man who needs to reevaluate his targeted audience.

My sister said that when she was at Smith in the 60’s there was a “dreamy” football player at Harvard named Charles Ravenel. I looked him up. He lives in Charleston and was also in jail at one point for some fraud or something! Must be a cousin.

I watched it once. Very painful to watch  Ravenel is 51. The fact that he pals around with a 20’s crowd is sad. When they replaced to aging Cooper River bridge from Charleston to Mt. Pleasant, it was (officially) renamed it the Arthur Ravenel bridge for his dad. I guess any publicity is good publicity for a political family!

Where is this show aired??

Bravo. Personally. I dislike this show intensely and I like Bravo trash as a rule. I think it’s the southern thing. Just can’t relate.

I can’t believe they have a child together.

@dke PPS is Peter Pan Syndrome; guys who refuse to grow up, get married, and take responsibility, and just continue to fool around with girls.

I can’t believe they had a kid either. That’s so…unsouthern and unclassy.

I couldn’t get past the first episode.

I think out-of-wedlock births cut across all regions of the country and up North most folks don’t think it’s “classy”.

I haven’t watched the show–mostly because it didn’t interest me. Haven’t read anything here that would encourage me to watch it.
