DD24 applied EA.
As best we can calculate (seriously every single school calculates it differently), 94.5/100 which translates to 3.7UW/4.0W???. Test optional. Good EC’s (internship, varsity athlete-captain, tons of volunteer work, teaching assistant for language department at her HS, etc.). Cox applicant.
Hoping for the best but it appears this year will be beyond competitive, even worse than last year, so we may have to revert to her safe schools as most southern universities are getting slammed with applications.

I think you are right on about the influx of applications. What I’m not sure about is whether the overall pool of applicants is more superior from one year to the next. So competitive!

D1 applied EA anxiously awaiting decision. 4.0 unweighted 4.375 weighted, IBDP candidate, very active in community along with theater, NHS, school leadership board, etc. Applied to Cox test optional so we will see.

DS applied EA and received a letter about 10 days ago from the Dean of Admission that they received her application, it’s complete and to update them with any new achievements or academic information. Did any of you receive this?

I received it a while ago. Truthfully, I hate the whole no-portal all physical-mail admission strategy from SMU.

There is no portal? I had no idea! My DS does not share portal info with me. 
They do have a portal.

How do I get access to the portal?
If the link to the portal wasn’t emailed to you in the days after you submitted your application, try Googling “SMU application management” and that should get you to the appropriate SMU admissions page. Then go to the link, “Create an account”
