Southern Methodist vs. Boston University

Hi! My freshman year I went to University of Oregon but came back home after that year. I just finished my sophomore year at community college. I am from California. I got into both Southern Methodist University and Boston University as a junior transfer for Fall 2020. SMU gave me an award, making my net cost around $40,000. I haven’t received BU’s Financial Aid statement. I have pros and cons for both schools (aside from the cost, since they’re similar) but I wanted more opinions. My goal is to study Psychology and go to Law School after college. Thanks!

Boston and Dallas are two very different cities. Have you visited either of them?

Hi! Yes, I have been to Boston many times. I have never visited Dallas. I have family in both places.

BU’s campus is a city campus integrated into its urban surroundings, while SMU has its own well-defined, beautiful campus.

BU is one of approximately 50 four year colleges in the Boston area.

Should be two very different experiences. BU if you want to experience the city of Boston; SMU is you prefer a more traditional–but very upscale–on-campus college experience.
