Southwest Airline credits question

I’ve had to cancel 2 flights totaling approximately $420. Is that one big pot and can draw from when rebooking? Or does each flight have to be used separately when rebooking a trip?

I had to cancel a flight in May and the amount I spent on the ticket showed up as “travel funds” in my account. I just booked another flight and when booking, it gave me the option to use travel funds. It just applies the dollar amount to whatever you are purchasing. I still have $10 left in my account for a future trip.

IOW, to answer your question, yes, it’s just one big pot of money to use. You can buy one leg, a roundtrip, etc. It just applies the dollar amount in your balance to the price of whatever you are booking.

@4kids4us , thank you! That’s great news.

But you cannot use it for a different traveler.

It’s one big pot, but you have to enter the confirmation number for the flight that you cancelled. So you have to enter both confirmation numbers to access all the travel funds. You can enter several confirmation numbers when paying for future trips so it’s not a problem.

Also, SW used to honor that $$ only for one year from the date that you made the reservation, so use the older $$ first. They have probably relaxed that one year standard now but I’d still use the older money first.

They have relaxed that one-year standard, but I’d confirm the dates just to be sure. And, yeah, you have to use those funds for the traveler on the reservation so if that $400 was split between two or three fliers, then only those fliers can use it.

I purchased the flights for the same son, so we’re good! Thanks.
