Spa Vacation

Just wondering if anyone had any ideas for a spa vacation. Has anyone been to a spa or spa-like area they would recommend? We don’t want to spend a fortune, just looking for somewhere relaxing. We were thinking maybe somewhere in Baja California, since we’re near San Diego, but other ideas are welcome. There would be 2 college students, 2 recent college grads, and 2 moms. Thanks.

Can’t exude enough about Canyon Ranch. Haven’t been to the one in Arizona, only the one in the Lenox, MA, but it was an excellent place.

I have also been to a great spa in Maine, but that is a bit far from San Diego!

Mirival in Az is amazing, plus great food and WINE!, has both great relaxation and adventure type activities. There is a great activity with horses, tells alot about your personality, very insightful. check out web site.

Miraval is the correct spelling, I can not get that paste link thing right!!

I love Red Mountain–for the setting and the incredible hikes and bike rides they arrange through the red rocks of Utah. 90 minutes east of Las Vegas.

Off hand I don’t know the name but I have friends who go every year to a place in the mountains of Mexico. I think near Mexico city. It is very reasonable compared to most spa vacations.
Also there are several places in Ojai that you could drive to. The Oaks or Ojai Valley Inn.

Thanks for the ideas! I find it stressful to make vacation plans, so I’ll need the spa when I’m done.

If you’re looking for a budget version of the Red Mountain Spa in Utah (an awesome place) - look to Green Valley Resort. We rented a big condo for about $120 a night, with a view of the mountains. Access to Green Valley Spa (wonderful), two pools, and great tennis courts. Very spacious and comfortable place to stay. Cheap and great for large groups. Zion National Park (a treasure) is about 45 minutes away. Snow Canyon is a 10 minute drive “hot stone” massage at the spa - highly recommended.

These sound great – anything for those of us on the East coast?

Stay at the Venetian in Las Vegas (they sometimes have spa package specials, which include a $100 credit and $179 for the room) and go to the Canyon Ranch spa THERE—much cheaper than Tucson, and a totally urban experience.
