<p>I just thought of this today while i was typing my essays (my brother goes to Notre Dame not me) and realized that i exclusively use my right thumb to hit the spacebar. i can’t remember whether i just developed this out of habit or that’s the way i learned it. anyway maybe while you’re typing a reply to this thread see which thumb you use to hit the spacebar so we can take a poll to determine which thumb is most predominant.</p>

<p>I don’t keep my fingers on the home keys, so I don’t use my thumb to hit the spacebar, but I exclusively use my right index to hit it.</p>

I used to do the two-finger thing but then I took a typing class and learned how to actually type. The bad thing is that my teacher died in the middle of the class (not during class, but the middle of the year) so it was a traumatic learning experience but I persevered in the end. Two-fingers no more.</p>
