Spaces Still Available at Some Colleges

From time to time, advice is given here to those who didn’t get into their top choice schools to the effect that some schools will have openings after May 1 and students might consider applying to such schools come May. The NY Times reported on this situation today and provided the following link – [Space Availability Survey Results 2009](http://www.nacacnet.org/PublicationsResources/Research/SpaceAvailabiltySurvey/Pages/SpaceSurveyResults.aspx) – to a list of colleges with openings. Some of the schools have been discussed in other threads in this forum. Of course, the fact that a school has openings generally does not mean that there are any in music. Good luck!

Smith and Georgetown appeared as having space available on the NACAc list released yesterday. Amazing

Or not - come to think of it, of the three people that I know who were accepted to Smith engineering- each received better financial packages from elsewhere and turned Smith down.

Note that Smith is only looking for transfers.

Georgetown appears not to be looking for either freshmen or transfers. I do not know why they are on the list at all. Perhaps just to let those on the waiting list know that there is still financial aid and housing available.

There are some pretty good schools with non-auditioned BA programs in music where you could simply declare that as a major if accepted, however.

Looks like Georgetown has been removed from the list. Perhaps their inclusion was an error in the first place.
