Spanish Courses

How hard are the Spanish 4 course and any upper level courses?

Variable, as I remember they seem to all have a standard curriculum. You have to go to discussion sections and memorize and study quite a bit outside of class. Upper level courses (above 21/22) have considerable literature sections and those require quite a bit of translation work. Classes are small enough that you usually have to participate.

I have taken Spanish 4 and 21. They weren’t too bad (it might have been that my teachers were fairly lenient) and certainly a lot easier than my AP Spanish Class (my teacher there were merciless in grading).
