Sparknotes

Is sparknotes too good to be true? I don’t understand why people buy book when the full sparknotes books are online…are they not that good?

Well buying the book is more convenient and most parents are willing to shell out money for test prep books.

sparknotes are really good except they have quite a few mistakes in them. I don’t really understand why they give them free online except maybe they make enough money from the book version and they are trying to establish good PR.

they have a contract with Barnes&Noble and are already cut out through them. the sales of their books dont mean much at the moment because B&N buys the books from sparknotes, so te sales of the books would basically in the short run only benefit B&N (probably sparknotes afterwards because they would get a better contract). in my opinion i think its a great idea for sparknotes to leave all the free stuff on because its a huge advertisment for them and just hones all their excellence for new students to discover everyday. new students go on sparknotes everyday and now i think sparknotes has beat out cliffnotes (not sure about this). in addition, many of the people that go on sparknotes are actually lazy students that don’t want to read the book but want to get the grades (not saying anything about anyone here because im one of those students that reads the book and the sparknotes to read into what the author was trying to say in between the lines) so are willing to pay the $4.95 (?) for a hardcopy they could carry around on the rush.

why did i just type all this out at 4:31am?
