I recently was pulled over by police officer and I began to wonder if this can affect my college application process in negative ways.
I was not driving under influence of alcohol and it was purely for speeding.
In addition, I have only 30 hours of community service.
Does it count at all?
How many hours do I usually need to make it useful?</p>
<p>Your speeding ticket wont count for anything. On the apps they ask if you have ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony. A speeding ticket is neither, its a traffic violation. Admissions officers dont care about those. In fact they probably have gotten tickets too. So calm down and dont worry, one speeding ticket doesnt really mean anything. They only start to matter when you get a bunch of them, and even then your college applications wont be affected. </p>
<p>The number of service hours you have doesnt mean much. Admissions officers would much rather see you do something that you are passionate about. If you list the number of hours you have done it will only make it seem like you care about quantity verses quality.</p>
<p>yeah, I didn’t even list my hours of service, even though i had a significant amount. I just talked specifically about what I did and what it meant to me.</p>
