<p>Since no one else has answered, I’ll just say that Spirit Airlines has a terrible reputation here in south Florida, at least from the people I know who have flown on it (I never have). They are often on the local news down here because of near riots at the ticket counters or picketing pilots and flight attendants. Let’s just say that customer service is not their strong suit. They’re the quintessential budget airline and they seem to attract budget customers (meaning those who are always looking for the cheapest of everything, but who complain when they don’t get the service offered by full-fare airlines).</p>
<p>I have yet to hear from anyone who has flown on Spirit who didn’t have an unpleasant experience, either on board the plane or with the ground personnel at the airport.</p>
<p>I’ve made about eight DC – FLA round trips and one from DC to Detroit (now canceled) Fine by me.</p>
