My superscored SAT was an 1880, and I was kind of nervous when applying to colleges because it seemed kind of low (by CC’s standards, at least). Today, I was conversing with a friend, and she mentioned that she was taking the ACT this month. I decided to sign up too (stupid move, maybe. I’ll be on standby as well) to see if I’d somehow do better on that test.

Since this was kind of an impromtu decision, I’d already sent in some of my college apps, without referencing that I’ll be taking the ACT. Would it be best to email them, or should I just leave those apps to fate?

Another question. I’ve started to prepare for the ACT, and I’ve found myself going through the English questions at an extremely sluggish pace (re-re-reading the passage, reading sentences over and over again to determine which of the answers best fit). Anyone have any tips to help speed me up?

Any other tips and tricks are welcome. I think I’ll be studying non-stop this whole week…
