Does anyone know anything about the field of sports analytics and colleges that offer a good start on this career oarh?
I have no personal experience but have heard good things 2nd hand about this program.
You don’t need to major in sports analytics. One of the students in my DD’s cohort scholarship program was into sports analytics. He majored in MIS and got a masters in business analytics and now works for a major athletic team doing sports analytics. He got a lot of experience in the field through internships on and off campus.
Thanks. I wondered about that. Good information.
The guy in Moneyball majored in econ at Harvard.
Applied math, statistics, and operations research would also be relevant.
MLB: Creating a new kind of major leaguer through college classes Pomona is featured in this piece, and Tufts and Syracuse are also mentioned.
Thanks. Great information!
Interesting. Jonah Hill’s character in the movie Moneyball went to Yale and majored in Econ.
The Jonah Hill character was a compilation of people but mainly Paul.
Maybe the Yale v Harvard was a dig by someone?
Thanks. The SU program looks very good to me. Probably the best in the country in this field.
