<p>sure talk about why you play instead of what you play or how you play. give insights into yourself as an individual. also you could tell about how a loss made you better.</p>

<p>it’s possible, but EXTREMELY difficult. IMO, describing how a loss made you better is also cliche (and boring). (My S pulled it off, but it was about character in the heat of the moment, and the sports setting just happened to be the backdrop.)</p>

<p>the 2004-05 cif scholar athlete of the year from davis high school wrote a winning essay about losing a game.</p>
