Sports Extracurricular question

I have been involved in a club team outside of my school for 4 years. They’re very competitive and of a better quality than the team at my school (The team at my school has gone 2 seasons without winning a single game). The season for the club team outside of school and the team in school conflict so I do not have enough time to participate in both teams. Is that seen as a discrepancy for Yale? I’m very involved in the team outside of school and I have been voted captain and MVP. I also started a charity that teaches said sport to kids with Autism.
Will Yale AO’s see it as weird that I am so involved in this sport but I don’t play for my school?

Not at all. It’s not that uncommon.

agreed. not uncommon at all. In some communities, a club team competes at a higher level than the HS. Depends on the sport or the cities involved.

Got it. Thanks!

Hey there @SMIcollege75
No, admissions probably won’t see it as weird. And if they do, it doesn’t really matter. It’s likely that the only reason you’d get accepted into Yale is because of strong recommendations from the college coach, anyway. I know this because it’s the exact situation I’m in now. My stats are nowhere near what it takes to be accepted as a non-athlete applicant.
I’ve never swam for my high school, just club. As long as you can provide to the team, the coach and admissions don’t really care where you got the skills from.
Good luck! B-)
