<p>For d1 and d2 schools, cal poly slo to be exact, how much do colleges weigh in sports and much of an effect does the head coach have if they like you? I’m trying to get into cal poly for diving and I’m already better than a lot of their divers and I wrote the head coach a nice email explaining who I was ect ect. How much could this effect my application? My grades for this school are kind of minimum-ish so I’m really hoping I can get a boost from diving and maybe even a scholarship</p>
<p>You might try letting your diving coach know your interest and have him contact the CPSLO coach.</p>
<p>Athletes get in all the time with stats that ordinary students don’t. If you’re close, this could be the edge you need. Keep pursuing it.</p>
