<p>Just got an email from UMass and was told that sport management program requires that students have some prior experience in that area. I have looked over website and cant find this. Does anyone know if this is true? and if so does it have to be with a professional team?</p>

<p>My D is a rising J in the Sports Management program at UMass. When we went to visit the program her junior year in hs, the spokesperson told us it was a very competitive department to be accepted to. He suggested she get some experience. When we got home she went to see the Athletic Director at her HS and she interned with him for the rest of HS. That was the experience she needed to get in. He also wrote her a nice rec.</p>
