Like the title says, I want to do a spring transfer to Cal State Chico for Electrical Engineering. I am a non traditional student in my late twenties and I have been attending community college part time for several years now. Here are my stats:
GPA 3.5+,
AA degree in Natural Science
All CSU Gen Ed requirements fullfilled
75-80ish units will have been completed at time of transfer
5 years professional work experience (lab technician)
It all looks good on paper, but I have one major shortcoming: I am aiming to transfer without having completed a good chunk of the lower division classes. Upon Spring admission I will still need to take calc III, diff eq, physics II, circuits, programming, logic, and embedded systems.
I have several reasons for wanting to transfer early: I may not have job security for more than a year or so, I want to avoid hitting the 90 unit cap at my community college (after which I would lose priority registration), and I would have one additional summer to do an internship (not a possibility now because I’m working full time). There are several additional minor reasons too.
Also, funding is not really an issue. I just want to know my likelihood of getting accepted for next Spring.
