Spring 2015 Transfer Thread

I am looking to transfer to UT Austin with a 3.61 GPA and want to major in the liberal arts, specifically English, and I don’t have a lot of on campus EC activities. I was, however, on a volunteer fire department for almost three years and we did a lot of work in the community. I included this along with some other community outreach programs I have been involved in over the years on my resume. I have one letter of recommendation from my English teacher/Humanities teacher/Honors Chairwoman. I am fairly confident in my essays and had two teachers/mentors go over them and make suggestions/corrections before I submitted them. I am looking for a Spring 2016 admission.

I will be graduating in May with Honors.

How good are my chances? Should I look at other options? I am also transferring from out of state…will that effect me in a negative way?

I’m looking to transfer from india to cockrell. i"ll be completing 94 credits after this semester(4th sem) in electrical engg. Cgpa comes out to be 2.91. would i be able to transfer as i’m unaware of engineering transfer competition.

I’m an engineering student at KU and I want to transfer to UT. My GPA if about 3.1 and I’m very involved on campus and have leadership in clubs relating to my major. Does anyone know what my chances are into getting in?

@CSKU13 @puffymama for engineering your GPA is too low , Engineering GPA that gets accepted is upwards of 3.85

I am a Sophomore at Texas A&M and I have been admitted to UT Austin. I will be transferring to UT Austin during the fall 2015.

I am worried that CS courses taken at Texas A&M will be transferred to UT. I wanted to know if there is possibility to transfer the core computer science courses taken at Texas A&M to UT Austin. The five computer science courses that I have taken until now are:

csce 121
csce 221
csce 222
csce 312
csce 314

Let me know. Thanks.

@Shah29 if you don’t mind me asking what were your stats ? to get into CS?

@MyLonghorn The universities consider gpa or cgpa? That high cgpa in engg. is actually tough to achieve imho. Also can you guide me how is the gpa calculated in US universities. I just converted my cgpa like this— cgpa/10*4. as we have 10 point grading scale here.

I’m currently a student at a UT feeder school. I have 30 hours of course work with a 3.53 cumulative GPA. I’m planning to apply to UT for economics in COLA for spring of 2016. With my stats and assuming that I can manage a 3.75+ next semester at my current school, what are my chances of getting into econ? My second choice major is COLA undeclared.

Hello!
I will be attempting to transfer from the University of Oklahoma
My expected gpa is upwards of a 3.8
I’m applying for the COE and the COLA
My first choice major is Kinesiology and Health Applied Movement Science (COE) and my second choice major is Psychology (COLA)
I’ve written 3 essays (2 required + 1 optional) and I believe that they are strong
I have 4 recommendation letters (1 from a calc I prof, 1 from the woman I nannied for over the summer who happens to be a UT alumni, 1 from my high school drill team coach, and 1 from a family friend who is also a UT alumni)
I’m currently in a sorority, biology club, pre-physical therapy club, union programming board, u-sing member
and in high school I was captain of the drill team, volunteered regularly at the library, was a member of the national honor society, HOSA, Spanish National Honor Society, President’s Council, and several other clubs. I also nannied over the summer and was paid to choreograph dance routines for the drill team I was on following graduation
What are my chances of being accepted?

What is the minimum GPA to be considered for Internal transfer into Nursing at UT?

Hi!
I am currently a CAP student at the University of Texas at Tyler trying to externally transfer into the Moody College for RTF.
I am expected to have at least a 3.8 GPA by the end of this year (if not a 4.0) and I already have one letter of recommendation from my Stats professor. (should I try to get another one?)
I am also apart of the broadcasting team at my university and in the Art History club and The American Chemical society. I have a lot of volunteer work as well, from this year and high school.
I’m hoping to volunteer at a local news station sometime soon too.
Do you think I would have a good chance of getting into RTF or Moody?
I also hope to have decent essays.

Hey guys! I am looking to transfer to UT for Fall 2016. I was reading over your threads and I also only have 17 credit hours but will be getting the other 13 this semester. Does UT accept you with your 17 credits and then you have to turn in your other 13 credits or do they accept you after you turn in your 13 credits?

Hi everyone!! I just applied to transfer to UT. I was wondering if anyone wanted to look at my stats and help me see if I have a chance!! Thank you.
