Spring 2015 Transfer Thread

What about classes that are only 1 hour long?

Hey @Saborak‌, are you taking out the short term tuition loan? Do you know if it covers books or just the tuition alone. They made a mistake with my financial aid, so I’m in the same boat as you.

Bettercalllsal, usually 10 minutes early on those.

On my classes, I use the building map. If they are relatively close I’ll pick a close that close, but usually I like 1 class length in between if I can. Timeslots are pretty limited on that first transfer registration though. Can be difficult.

Yeah I’m talking about the short term, and I’m pretty sure just the tuition. I could be wrong though.

Guys, these aleks tests are kicking my butt.

Wow, so on Monday the woman in financial aid told me to go ahead and pay my housing deposit and register for classes. On Thursday someone on the phone with financial aid said my new package wouldn’t be available for at least a month or so and he advised me to drop all my classes. On Friday, at around 4:45, I was told that he was wrong and I can actually register and everything. I didn’t have time to reregister before five.

I feel so… ripped off and lied to?
I mean, I lost my 300 dollar housing deposit, I spent a lot of money driving down there, and my heart is basically broken so thanks a lot UT.

@putabirdonit Registration opens up again on Tuesday, January 20th from 8 AM to midnight. I’m not sure if you’ve already thought of something else, but you can still register for classes when it opens up again.

Theres also a lot more classes opened up, so you should be fine

Hi, everyone! ! I think yesterday January 20th was the last day for heating from UT,is that correct?

Anyone got into CS or Cockrell?

Hello, I am looking to transfer to the Advertising & Public Relations undergrad the from a California CC with a 3.67 GPA with professional marketing, ad, and pr experience. Any know if this GPA is high enough? From what I’ve read, seems like I need at least a 3.75. Any input would help.

I applied and auditioned for the music school for Fall 2015, but I have less than 30 hours until this semester is over so I have to wait until May to find out if I’m accepted. Is anyone else in the same boat??

@rhtransfer‌ You’ll have to wait until somewhere near mid June for your decision if you’re currently completing the 30 hours.

@DeeGeeErbear‌ I got notification of my acceptance recently, and I’m an auto-admit. It says “We regret to inform you that you didn’t have get your first-choice major;however, you are able to select from a list of possible majors with spots available.” Does that also mean that I didn’t get my second-choice? Thanks.

I’m currently studying at UTSA,
will probably have a 3.8 GPA by this spring term
What are my chances of getting into UT COE or COLA?

I applied for fall 2015!

Its auto admission for you I believe @pinkboo‌.

Hi I’m currently trying to transfer from TCC into the RTF program. My accumulated GPA is 3.75 but I looked on a section in the scholarship area and it lists me as a 3.58? It also looks like it only lists 64 credits even though I have more.

Anyhow I have a letter of recommendation and two strong essays with a decent resume. I’m 27 and have less accolades to mention due to my full time job. I did mention some extra curriculars and some volunteer work I did in collaboration with my place of work.

My question is do I stand a decent shot at RTF with the oddly dropped 3.58 GPA?

Hi I am a UTD student with a 3.7 GPA and 30hours from UTD and 6 from collin (one A one B). My first choice major is mathematics and my second choice is undeclared CNS. My essays are good and over mathematics. I have 2 Rec letters (RHET prof, calc I prof) and in calc I, calc II, Chem I and linear algebra I got an A, A-, B+ and A respectively.
How are my chances looking? Anything I can do at this point to help?

The sunglasses emoji should say one B lol

@jannyboi You have a pretty good chance. Those are a lot of STEM related classes, so that will be a big impact in terms of your competitiveness as an applicant. Your GPA is also competitive; take a look at this link if you haven’t already:

@celiacanez Did you get in???
