spring admit to college, what should I be doing right now?

Hey everyone! i’m a spring admit to USC, and I’m wondering how I should be spending my semester of free time before college begins.

I am currently in Taiwan, taking classes to learn Chinese so that I can test out of the language requirement once I begin school.

I am planning to volunteer at the University where I am taking classes, teaching English to students and helping them with their conversational speaking and writing skills. I am hoping to volunteer pretty heavily in this area, 5 hours a day, 5 days a week for the next three months. The professors also have me scheduled to present a series of seminars to 200+ students.
But do you guys think that Medical schools will think this is a good use of my time? I know med schools really like consistency and volunteering, but what if it has nothing to do with my intented future career?

would my time be better spent volunteering/researching/shadowing doctors in a hospital? the problem is that my language skills are not very good, if I volunteered in a hospital i’m worried that my helpfulness would be reduced to typing up english documents or inputing data into computers.

I really don’t want to waste my time.
thank you everyone in advance!
