Hi @AndywantUTAustin . i was wondering did you get denied with a 4.0 or did PetroBear84 get denied? I have a 4.0 GPA and three letters of recommendations, a fairly good resume stacked with mission trips, sports, NHS, and volunteer activities. I applied to Moody as a Corporate Communications major, and after reading your post now I am worried. Thank you so much for your help.
@AndywantUTAustin How many hours did you have? How many of them were of the recommended courses? I would think Cockrell would weigh heavy on Math and Science courses?
@AndywantUTAustin sorry to hear that mate. I was nervous to check My Status but I’m still in review. If it doesn’t work out with Petro hopefully my second choice Civil will come through.

@AndywantUTAustin @kaiut19 I first applied for the spring 2016 semester with a better gpa than what I had for my fall 2016 application (which was accepted for my first choice major, physics). I also had two internships at national laboratories and 4 LORs. I was in the process of completing Eng Physics I, Chem II, and Calc II. Well, my application was rejected. I wasn’t given a reason but I assumed they wanted me to complete more courses since my stats were impeccable.
I ended up getting a C in Chem II and although I figured this ruined my chances, I applied again, this time with just 2 LORs, no changes to my essays, but I had nearly completed all recommended courses (I had completed ALL recommended math and science courses). I got Bs in Calc II, Calc III, Diff Eq, and Eng Phys II. This time, although my gpa decreased, they accepted me
I think completion of their recommended courses for transfer is key. If this doesn’t pertain to you then I am sorry. I don’t know what else could be the issue.

I just don’t know how can be admitted since I was told there are around 20 positions for petroleum engineering.

Thank you for your website. I didn’t know that before. I didn’t have history and government. Maybe that’s the reason. LOL
UT’s Admission Twitter page posted that transfer applications would not be released until mid June.
I take that to mean the next wave of results for all of us non-4.0 students. I’d say if your results are still in review as of now, there’s definitely still hope. Hopefully sometime in the next two weeks the waiting game will be over!
