The only thing I am worried about is the Computer Science department being overcrowded. I have heard from UT students that it is an overcrowded department and it is hard for students to get the classes they want, but I do have mathematics as my secondary choice. I would even go into CNS undeclared just to even be there. I just don’t want to wait any longer just like the rest of you.
Okay, so I am transferring from a Louisiana university and we take a 5 hour calculus 1 course that teaches everything from limits, derivatives, relates rates, optimization, continuity, integration, maxima, extrema, natural logs, exponential, inverses and etc… Why is UT having my class as M508K which is an alias for M408K and not M408C? Are they trying to say the want me to take their calculus course or what and then they don’t have my discrete mathematics course as M325K when we go in detail of set theory, logic, proof writing techniques, mathematical induction, functions, and some… Did they not get that far? It has me worried… If anyone has a reason why the school is saying I did not take a standard calculus class should I call the math department tomorrow or the admissions office and get clarification?
Ahhhh I can’t believe we are into June already and I still have not heard back.
@UTHopeful1986
Don’t worry too much about it. I was in the same shoes as you last year waiting. Just sit back, relax and you’ll hear something from UT before you even know it.
@Toastyful thank you! I know we still have a few more weeks, I just never thought it’d actually take the whole time. I’m seeing everyone getting ready and the excitement, and I’m over here like… still waiting lol I know the answer is coming soon so that keeps me going. Good or bad, just can’t wait to know.
@UTHopeful1986 Right?! This is torture. I am moving to Texas Sunday, so hopefully the move will distract from the anxiety of awaiting my decision!! Good luck to you- fingers crossed! There’s obviously something they like about you
I know this wait sucks- I’m trying to look at it in a good way… at least we haven’t been rejected! Ha!
Does anyone mind telling your age on here? I’m curious what the age difference is between us all. It always varies with a transfer student. I’m 30, married and have 4 little boys. This is a foundation for my family, our lifeline. It’s always been a dream of mine to attend college, even more so UT. I never thought it was possible. Now that I have my associates, and did so well… nothing is impossible it seems!
Hey guys! I’ve just been lurking for a while just to kinda see what my chances are of getting in, but I figure it might be nice to talk about it with people that are going through the same thing. Best of luck to all of you!
@UTHopeful1986 I just turned 19 and finished my first year at University of Houston. Hope you get in!
@UTHopeful1986. I figured you were 30 just because of your username. I’m a 1985 brat and am turning 31 next Friday. No kids here, but a wife and a pug =P. Hopefully, I’ll get some good news on my birthday!
@UTHopeful1986 22 here
@jpark7956 Well I’m glad you joined in. I am sure there is a lot of people just reading along and not posting. So to you and to all those out there following silently… I’m hopeful for you too! It would be nice if our little team gets to all give a praise report~
and Happy early birthday @SystemAddict
I’m 20 from Mexico!
A lot of discussions going on, but I was wondering if anybody has been admitted or knows when the decision date is? Sorry if someone has already stated the decision date, I just haven’t read all the way back. (:
@UTHopeful1986 @SystemAddict
I’m 30 too! I will be 31 on the 27th of this month, er… I mean 30 again! ha!
No kids (yet), not married, but been with someone for 13 years
Just a note, last year, on the 2nd Monday-Wednesday of June, a wave of decisions came out. This year has seemed to mimic last years roll out dates, so hopefully we will see some good news on here Monday!
Thanks so much that calmed me down for now! (:
@Castlegem There is no specific date, UT says all decisions will be out by June 15th. But by following last year’s thread, this year has almost been almost identical.
This past week I have been watching this thread and have finally decided to make an account! I’ve been trying to find out some information about decision releases and you all have been very helpful! I did my first two semesters at ACC and I am now trying to transfer into COLA Gov. A few of my friends already found out (who did not have over 30 hours until spring, unlike me who had 30 hours at the end of my fall semester) and were accepted! Also, I have had my app. in since January and it didn’t go into review until early March just to further support that the review waiting process is highly skewed. I am still checking every day nervously but it is good to know there are people out there just as eager as me to hear back! Good luck to everyone!
@britni12 Thanks, that helps a lot atleast I have an idea!! (:
@Riverbat15 Same I submitted my application in early January and had all my 30 hours done by fall, still waiting !! Very eager and anxious to finally find out! (:
