Spring/Fall 2016 Transfer Thread

ya its really hard they give more seats to internal transfer and I am assuming that 25-30 have 4.0 maybe less but I also think other factors like essays and LOR play a role in the admissions process we can only hope for better :slight_smile: @HoiCheung

@tonyromo123 so after the decision deadline. Fantastic.

@clintonwk you mccombs transfer? They will probably start from Moday so yeah next we should get it.

Anyone heard anything about when COE will release decisions?

whats COE? College of Engineering? most were released on friday and some will be released next week

@TexasLonghorn12 College of Education

@TexasLonghorn12 nah I’m CNS

okay so we know for sure CNS, Mccombs and COE havent heard back yet so next week we will

Any CAP students that havent heard from Cockrell Engineering?

@EaglesThunder35 many external transfer to cockrell got their decisions on friday. you will most likely get next week

@TexasLonghorn12 it scares me that alot of people got their responses and I’m still waiting

@EaglesThunder35 I’m A CAP student still waiting to hear back from them. My application went into review like 3 says ago. I’m actually a bit scared but a little comforted that someone else is in the same boat as me

@EaglesThunder35 Ya maybe they will release your decision next week. you will get in cockrell. I heard it easier then getting into Mccombs or Computer science

@LostTraveler Dude, did I have differential equations with you this last semester?

Pray for Orlando…

^^^ so sad :frowning:

Pray for Orlando, anyone have any news or any updates they like to share?

So, I heard the chances of externally transferring to UT nursing are bad. Awful, actually. BUT I still have a couple of questions if anyone would be willing to answer them!
-Does anyone know how the process works?
-Is it true that spots are available only if other nursing kids drop the program?
-Do they even take externals anymore?
I applied with a 3.9 GPA, awesome essays, work as a CNA, two rec letters (one from the Chief Nursing Officer from the hospital I work at)…do I even have a shot?

@masontaylor I would go through this thread and past transfer threads and see who got into nursing and what their stats were.

EDIT: Quick google search tells me this year the SON only had 130 open seats for incoming freshmen. Your GPA is competitive and yes, I do believe they still take externals, but very few.

@masontaylor from what I know is getting into nursing is pretty easy with your GPA you will most likely get in and I dont think they care much about essays ya they are one of the factors but Mccombs and Computer Science school at UT is really tough to get in.
