Spring/Fall 2016 Transfer Thread

Did yall’s status just change, or did you wake up and check it?

Thank you!!!

Woke up at 9:30 and checked it. It was somewhere between midnight and 9 am

I was checking at work (slow day) starting at 8 AM and I saw my acceptance at approximately 8:53. So mine was posted some time in between 8:30 and 9

Wow. That is a lot of CNS denies. I’m am nervous even more now.

I just want to let everyone know that I am a prime example of UT’s holistic process… My overall transfer GPA was a 3.1 but if you take out my first year, it was nearly a 3.8. I also had an F on my transcript as well.

So to anyone reading this thread, an upward trend in grades really does speak volumes to UT.

I would like to agree with it being very holistic my GPA had a declining trend and was a 3.2, but my resume was killer and I had previously attended an out of state university. A&M denied me with in a week of applying and I honestly lost a lot of hope for UT but this truly shows that they consider every applicant. I’m honestly feeling so blessed right now. #hookem

I didn’t have Calculus, I assume that’s the reason for my CNS denial, but acceptance to COLA

@britni12 omg I’ve been perusing this thread for months and have been rooting for you for so long!!! congratulations on getting into COLA!!!

Calculus is not required but it helps a lot. I called the university a few times in the fall and asked about it since I didn’t take calculus until the spring. But having all As and Bs in math and science courses is mostly mandatory from what I understand. CNS is also very big about how many hours you have and not all that jazz. CNS is the only college I applied to for both choices.

@SlimShadyLady aw, thank you!!
@hookemlion504 it’s not required for biology, but highly favorable. I’m just guessing why I wasn’t accepted to CNS, but admitted elsewhere.

.

Congrats everyone on your acceptance to one of the best universities in the world!

@britni12 I was pretty much only following this thread to see if you got in. Congrats, see you in COLA. Do you know which orientation you’re hoping for.

@Clintonwk I really appreciate that you appreciate math AND philosophy. I can’t find a way to accept math.

@cren91 Thank you!! I felt like it was the longest shot in the world with my past college history- AND being out of state! I signed up for June 30th orientation.

So happy for y’all! I’ve been still checking on the thread and it’s awesome to see people get accepted who I’ve seen on the thread for months.

My status just updated… :frowning: We regret… words that I didn’t want to hear. But I am thankful for a decision. The wait was seriously killing me. But at least now I know. I do have a back up plan, I will be attending Texas State in San Marcos in the Fall. Congrats to all of you who got into an amazing school, I’m very proud of you all.

@UTHopeful1986 What school did you apply?

Still waiting on CS. The list is dwindling though. Congrats everyone who got in!

Are you not going to appeal? Also what major and stats?
