@UTHopeful1986 I’m so sorry
I was not admitted to McCombs. So sad right now
@rach98n We are going at orientation to visit on June 26. I’m hoping the improvements will make a difference. Also, they put new wood blinds in all the rooms.
@Newsie2015 I had a 3.7 gpa when I applied, 3.65 after spring semester. 2 essays and 1 LOR if you want to add that to the list to help others!
@mccombsdreamer what about your 2nd choice?
@britni12 My second choice was Moody and was not accepted either. Stats: 4.0 GPA/ 57 hours/3LOR/2 essay
Has anyone who’s been rejected submitted an appeal?
@aggiehorn18 are you going to try transfer from econ to business once youre there? bc im thinking about doing that since i also didnt get into mccombs
@Carolinenora we may go tomorrow. If so, I’ll PM you what we find.
I STILL havent heard anything from Cockrell?!

Don’t lose hope if you haven’t heard, I was notified after the deadline!
There is still a chance!
Yay! My daughter just got acceptance notification this morning at around 8:30 am to COLA undeclared. 3.67 GPA, 3 well-structured solid essays, 1 LOR, good resume with some community service. Good luck to everyone on the forum. My hair has been turning grayer every day for the past four months since she applied. Many thanks to all the hard working people in admissions too. It’s quite the task to go through 37000 applications. Good luck and remember, hard work and determination pays off! Hook 'em Horns!
If anyone is still looking for roommates PM me! I’m looking at apartments in west campus this weekend. Girls only please
Man I am going to stay living in San Antonio for this first semester and its gonna be a rough drive every day lol. Oh well, I got my financial package which wasn’t that impressive. Luckily, I don’t need it really extra gas money would be nice though. UTSA offered me a ton more but UTA is where I want to go.
Anyone finish their to do list yet I’m just waiting on my last college to send them my final transcript. It was surprisingly easy to get my high school transcripts sent even after 10 years of not being there. They sent it electronically yesterday and Austin got it today.
Anyone else sign up for the June 30th Orientation?
And of course congratulations to all that have been accepted.
@britni12 Congrats!
@ReverseCremation thank you! Since I didn’t get in Biology I’m going to chose Geography- Earth Science, and hope I can internally transfer to Bio. If not, earth science is awesome!
Blessed!! Got into first choice Political Communications. 39 hours 4.0 1LOR . Thankfully did not have to wait all weekend. Hope everyone else hears back today as well
To those who were rejected from their first choice, I found this bit of info from my MyStatus page:
“Some university majors are highly competitive. As a result, some highly qualified students are offered admission to their second-choice majors simply because their first choice doesn’t have space for all students who applied.”
The way I take that is that some people are put in their second choice majors as a sort of temporary home, with all expectations that they will internally transfer when space opens up. At least I hope!
