Hope: It’s difficult for peer reviewing of engineering applicants. I do feel comfortable saying you will probably make 1st cut going from your stats lol After that, essays and resumes come in, which we can’t see.
@“Hope N Calories” I think you have a solid chance. You’ve maintained a perfect GPA through some of the main STEM courses that you need. Also, I’ve personally seen people with a much less impressive transcript get accepted into Cockrell.
Hey guys I am applying for Fall 2016 as a transfer student to CS as first major and ECE as my second major.
I am a freshman at ACC and am sitting on 44 credits with a 4.0, I am also projecting 58 credits by end of semester with a 4.0 as well.
Classes include (Programming Fundamentals I and II, Calculus I and II, Chemistry I and II, Engineering Physics I)
I know it is hard to chance it is just that I am so worried and would like to know what other people think.
I mentioned a web developing internship in the summer which is gonna be overseas. I am also being offered a position at Intel at the time being for software testing. Also a year of previous job experience and lots of volunteer work. My essays for the first time were amazing in my opinion.
I am on the presidential honor roll at my college and have 3 recommendation letter, one being from my CS professor.
@compsci123 it sounds like you already know what your chances are. Also, 44 hours is no longer a freshman. Most institutions consider that sophomore. Just FYI.
Lol ^^^. I’m so anxious for tomorrow! I am trying not to get my hopes TOO up, but I think we will most likely hear back in April. I’m trying to be optimistic here haha With the exception of last year, in the years before, people started hearing back very shortly. Eeeeeeeee! girl squeal
Well, I did go through this entire thread, and it looks like people that applied for this spring heard back within the normal time frame, so I’m hoping that means they worked out last years kinks.
Hi everyone,
I’m applying for the Spring 2017 semester but since that thread hasn’t been created yet, I just wanted to ask if anyone would chance me/read what I’ve written so far for my essays?
Major: Psychology or Neuroscience(this is my second choice)
GPA: 3.3(it’s not that good but I’m going to take some more courses over the summer)
Extracurriculars: RHA member for my school
Volunteer Work: Helped organize events at my college and been a course marshal
Essays: I haven’t started of Essay E yet but Essay A is almosy done
@chlphil If I were you I would make my essays STELLAR. I mean like something they’ve never seen and that makes them want to know you more. I have heard that Psychology is very popular at UT making it quite competetive. Your GPA is quite low, so I would explain to them why. Essays will most likely be your determining factor of getting in.
@britni12 Thanks for replying! Can you read what I’ve written so far please? Also, how do I send things to people on here(I just became a member today)?
Also flags your essay as plagiarized when it gets checked. Obviously you can prove it is yours, but why have the controversy. Definitely recommend PM to her.
