Spring/Fall 2016 Transfer Thread

@Clintonwk They should update the page to say you got accepted into A&M.

@BladeX June is just the absolute LATEST you will hear back by. In previous years people start hearing back in April.

I checked a youtube video by one of the UT admissions guy. He mentioned if you have over 30 hours by the March 1st deadline you should hear back between mid to late April.

When was the video made?

@“Hope N Calories” 30 hrs as if 30 semester credits or quarter unit?

I found this video today. It’s from an admissions guy. External transfers w over 30 credit hours will hear back early to mid APRIL!!! Good luck everyone! (Hopefully I don’t get in trouble for posting a video)https://youtu.be/6fNxOZcDcrg

@BladeX I believe its 30 semester credit hours.

@britni12 You already got the video! I am not sure how accurate this info is going to be because he is not working with UT anymore.

How often do people get accepted into UT after getting rejected from A&M?

So, for example, I have my first major for the school of natural sciences (which I have a feeling I won’t get into) and my second major is for environmental science in liberal arts. I found on the UT-ACC sheet that I should have made it my first-choice major and I needed geology but I cannot find those requirements on their website. I have 37 hours and I’m under review with a GPA of 3.68. If I get rejected from both majors, could I still get offered admission to UT for another major or liberal arts? And how likely would that be?

@206fall2016 If you got rejected from A&M and your grades aren’t terrible, then more than likely you applied too late. A&M reviews and hands out admissions on a first come, first serve basis. The sooner you apply to A&M, the more likely it is that you’ll get in. If a major gets full, they’ll reject you from it.

I applied in January to A&M. They gave me my decision in February. It was surprising to get a rejection considering that I got a 33 and am coming from a more selective school.

@206fall2016 if you don’t have the major specific prerequisites you will be rejected right away.

Does anybody know anything about the Calculus requirements for mccombs? I ended up taking business calculus 2 after getting AP credit for Regular Calculus 1 and though UT’s weird credit transfer policy pretty sure im getting denied though theres still a small chance the credit will count, just want to see if someone knows more than I do or has experience with this situation

@whlockett Call the admissions office. I’ve called them once about my credits.

Just think about how Colt McCoy or Vince Young felt when they kept checking their application statuses! Lol. They transferred from ACC too right?!

So i found out that I didn’t make it off the waitlist and now I will be attending A&M freshman year. But is it possible to transfer to UT CNS after just one semester at A&M? What would be conisdered in my application and it is advised?

Is it*

@dboss4 honestly if you were accepted into TAMU’s CNS just go there. It isn’t worth the pain of switching institutions and packing up the ol’ apartment. TAMU is a top notch university. However, if you truly want to go to UT save your money and attend a community college to build up the GPA.

@dboss4 no, you have to have 24 hours at your university before you can transfer :-/

I believe UT requires 30 hours before transfer. At least it does for communications.
