Spring/Fall 2016 Transfer Thread

@BlueMoonArmy Thanks! Great info that confirms what I think we all thought already.

@PetroBear84 Amen! Enough with the chance me’s at this point. We’re in the waiting pool but you all make me feel better about the wait. Hope to hear all get in soon enough!

@texasmanic645 You’re citing a 2003-2004 catalog. UT Austin changed its internal grading system to plus/minus effective fall semester 2009. When that happened the Admissions Office began counting plusses & minuses in transfer admission GPAs.

@PastePotPete you are correct. UT will count pluses and minuses only to the extent of if the transfer school uses the plus and minus system. My school does not and when I called and asked the admission people they told me they use whatever the transcript has since my school doesn’t use pluses and minuses it helped me out more. In the end we get reset when we get admitted.

Well, if anyone wants answers to their “chance me” questions, this site will answer it for you better than anyone on here can.

AHH that website said doubtful T.T lol

Mine said ‘most likely’, but I’m not buying it. I don’t have a good feeling at all!

I’m waiting to send my spring grades to College of Liberal Arts for Psychology b.s. And second major of Women and Gender Studies. I finished all the required courses and I should end the semester with 3.44-3.66?
Do I have any chance of still getting it? Thanks!

@mat2015 It’s hard to say, but I would think you would be considered somewhat competive. We can’t see your essays, which is a big part of a transfers admission.

We don’t need to be rude to people coming here for comfort. If we don’t feel confident saying someone’s chance then just say that to them. We are all in this together. We shouldn’t be discouraging people from asking any question they have regardless of content.

Also update on my recommendation letter search: I got my boss to do it!

I agree with @britni12 I’m pretty sure we’re all on here cuz we’re nervous and excited if y’all weren’t you wouldn’t be on here. So just be nice

The point I’m making is that admissions is taking the applications and throwing darts at them to decide who gets in.

@britni12 what major are you and your husband applying for?

@BlueMoonArmy you know that is not true lol stop being negative :stuck_out_tongue:

@reconn78 I applied to College of Natural Science- Biology for 1st ( I want to teach 7-12 biology) and Liberal Arts Undeclared for 2nd option. Hubby applied to Cockrell for Aerospace Engineering 1st choice and Mechanical Engineering for 2nd

Lol @BlueMoonArmy and I have a feeling that ppl will start getting their decisions sometime next week, like next Thursday or something

@chlphil I like your logic! I like having a glimmer of hope to hold on to haha

Guys next Tuesday is my birthday, and decisions are supposed to start coming out ‘mid April’… Just saying UT, you could give me the ultimate birthday present.

@Clintonwk haha! Fingers crossed for you!

@britni12 thanks, you too! And everyone else, of course!
