I was accepted Friday for ECE as an OOS transfer!
@desunaito Congrats!!! Would you mind posting your stats? GPA, which science/math classes you’ve done, how many credits you have, and essay topics? Those details may help the other engineering applicants.
Good luck to y’all waiting on decisions!
@cren91 For the repeat status column I believe the ‘I’ means ‘included’ and the ‘E’ means excluded. But I also have quite a few W’s, and I was factoring that into my GPA which is wrong. Thanks for pointing that out. The anxiety was really getting to me at the time of my post; I’ve calmed down since then. It could still be a while before applicants like me hear back from CNS, and I just can’t stay on edge for that length of time. Been trying to relax and not obsess so much about it.
@britni12 Thanks for your comment. It helped put my mind at ease. I did touch on my chequered past and focused mostly on my personal growth in my statement of purpose essay. I hope UT recognizes people who are determined to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and forgive us of our academic transgressions
@ImDerped No problem! I have read a few places, spoke with admissions, and talked with my Grandmother (she is a Chemist, who worked for Monsanto for many years, as well as was a professor). My Grandma said academic growth shows a lot about a student. It shows a yearning for success, dedication, and triumph. Students who had terrible grades, and then completely turn around are sometimes the best students. So, I wouldn’t worry too much about the past, as long as you have the prereqs, a good new GPA, and excellent essays, you should be ok
Stats
I have an AA and AAA from past schooling about tens years ago at a 3.7ish gpa, with only a few gen eds transferring and english credits.
recent schooling / ECE prereqs:
Linear Algebra 4.0
Calc 1-3 all 4.0
CSC110, 142, 143, our entire programming series in WA CC, all 4.0
Engineering Physics, done with mechanics and elec/magnetism with 4.0. waves in progress
DiffEQ, Circuits also in progress
@desunaito Great, thanks! You were well prepared for you application!
Will they tell you if they are waiting for your spring semester grades to come in if you have over 30 hours? Or will they just wait to release your decision.
@golf1234 - my guess would be they would wait on spring grades if you have pre-reqs in progress, but that is just a guess!
@golf1234 they tell you
my friend who applied to COLA has already been notified.
Anyone heard back for biomedical engineering yet?
@kafooxd is there a specific place where your friend was notified? And did she have over 30 credits? Thanks for the help!
Has anyone heard back from nursing yet?
@golf1234 No problem!! She saw it on her MyStatus page. She has under 30 credits though. I heard that they only ask for your spring grades to make a decision if you have under 30 hours. If you have 30 or more, they’ll make a decision on your grades now.
@cometsoc8 I’m also applying to nursing and went back on previous threads and learned that many students didn’t hear back until june… I’m not sure how accurate that is, but when you get a decision or an answer could you keep me updated?
Has anyone heard back from Mechanical or Civil engineering?
Haven’t seen any COLA decisions either
If anyone knows any info on College of Education, don’t keep it a secret lol
No, it seems like those have not sent out any decisions yet
