My son(10th grade, soccer player) sent his highlight video to one of D1 colleges. The coach sent an email that he’d like to invite my son to his upcoming Spring ID clinic. Is this considered a good sign?
I’d say that an invitation to an ID clinic is the standard response. If the email looks like a copy/paste generic one, and there hasn’t been other direct contact, then I wouldn’t get overly excited. Keep in mind every coach needs players for his camps so the more the merrier from their perspectives.
If you’re trying to figure out if attending is worth the time and expense, you should have you son seek his club coach’s opinion. There’s no harm in going if your son likes going to camps and it’s in your budget. Then he can figure out if he fits and is interested.
